Wandering Spirit: African Wax Prints is on view in the Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising’s main gallery until December 17, 2021. The exhibit examines the global history of these wax print fabrics, with the designs originating in Java, industrial manufacture centered in Europe, and the use of the textiles by West African consumers.
