Rebecca Damenorki Sewu is a second-year master’s student in Journalism and Media Communication at Colorado State University. Her research and professional interests span public relations, strategic communication, media and society, and cultural studies, with a focus on how communication shapes organizational behavior and community engagement. She earned her B.A. in Communication Studies (Public Relations) from the University of Media Arts and Communication in Ghana.

Rebecca has worked in diverse communication and media roles, including as a Sales and Marketing Executive with Ignite Media Group (Metro TV, Original FM & TV), and in corporate communication with Donewell Insurance Company limited, Ghana. She also gained experience in cultural promotion through her internship at Ghana’s National Commission on Culture. Currently, she serves as the General Secretary of the African Graduate Student Association (AGSA) at CSU, where she helps build community among African students and connect African perspectives to broader campus initiatives.
