The Africa Center's Research Fellow Dr. Matthew Luizza Offered Prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellowship!

Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Luizza on receiving a coveted AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship in Washington D.C. with Fish and Wildlife Service International- Africa Branch. Matt is a recent PhD graduate from CSU's Graduate Degree Program in Ecology and a current Research Fellow with the Africa Center. For the next two years he will be working at the policy-science nexus in Washington D.C. on wildlife conservation issues in Central Africa, with a focus on combatting illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching. 


Matt working with pastoralists in rural northern Ethiopia to document changes to the landscape witnessed by pastoralists and assess threats to local livelihoods.
